Starting off seeds

As the days become warmer and the sun starts to show, I am getting some vegetable seeds started off here at home, in the hope they take and I can get them taken over to the community garden and planted up. Here I and the kids planted some lettuce and some swiss shard, into egg cartons. Egg cartons are of course made from cardboard, so they are biodegradable. Some plant these straight into the ground, as they will break down into the soil. Others decide to remove the plants from then chuck the egg cartons into the compost bin/pile. Either way, it all adds to the goodness of the soil. Check out here details of what we sowed, and check back to see how they do: Swiss Chard: https://www.growveg.co.uk/plants/uk-and-europe/how-to-grow-swiss-chard/ Lettuce: https://www.growveg.co.uk/plants/uk-and-europe/how-to-grow-lettuce/
