As the days turn into weeks of what we are calling as a society "lockdown" not all hope and inspiration is lost. Sticking to the current restrictions, imposed by the government, the community garden saw some life and action. Today at the garden, a selection of fruit bushes (38 in total) were planted in their new home. Varieties include black currant, white currant, red current, gooseberry and blackberry. Who knew being part of a community group and community project was so joyful. However, it also has its challenges, with many good, however opposing opinions of where said bushes should go, the final decision was taken today to plant them along the outskirt of our woodland wildlife area, in the hope the bushes will thrive and create a row of harvestable, edible hedging, attracting wildlife and biodiversity to the garden.
